The Frist Center for the Visual Arts' 2012 exhibition schedule offers a wide variety of exhibitions in the Center's Ingram Gallery. These include masterpieces of American art from the famed Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.; an exhibition combining quilts from Gee's Bend, Ala., and the monumental assemblages of Alabama native Thornton Dial; works on paper from self- taught artist Bill Traylor, also from Alabama; and a major Frist-organized retrospective of the work of internationally acclaimed photographer, Carrie Mae Weems.

It's just been announced that Lauren Ambrose will star as Fanny Brice in FUNNY GIRL, in the first Broadway production of the musical since it originally opened in 1964. FUNNY GIRL, which features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill and book by Isobel Lennart, will be directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher.

To celebrate the publication of New York independent filmmaker and animator Bill Plympton's new book Independently Animated (Rizzoli), Museum of the Moving Image will present two days of screenings and personal appearances over Memorial Day weekend.

San Francisco's cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater proudly announces the lineup for its 12th season. The ambitious season opens in October with Maurice Maeterlinck's PELLEAS AND MELISANDE in a new translation by Cutting Ball Artistic Director Rob Melrose, who will also direct. The company is also poised to present the World Premiere of Eugenie Chan's evocative take on an ancient Estonian folk tale, TONTLAWLAD, directed by Paige Rogers and Annie Paladino, in February.

The Town Hall (123 West 43 Street), New York's landmark concert venue will present Peter Yarrow and Friends, a family concert, on Sunday, May 15th at noon.

The Graduate Acting Program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts will present a special one-time-only benefit concert staging of playwright and alumnus Tony Kushner's play The Henry Box Brown Play: Political-Historical-Doggerel-Vaudeville.

Last night, May 2, The Town Hall, led by Marvin Leffler and Lawrence Zucker celebrated its 90th Anniversary with 'Town Hall at 90,' a benefit concert paying tribute to the rich cultural history of the institution from 1921 to the present day. The concert starred Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, Tony Award nominee Liz Callaway, Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk, Theatre world and Emmy Award winner Tovah Feldshuh, legendary Jazz guitarist and banjoist Bucky Pizzarelli and Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner. Dancers/choreographers Jeffry Denman ('White Christmas,' 'Yank!') and Noah Racey ('Curtains') danced together. Scott Siegel, creator/writer and host of The Town Hall's acclaimed Broadway By The Year series, has written and will host the evening.
